PESHAWAR: At least seven people were killed and 20 others were injured in a powerful car bomb blast on Peshawar’s Kohat Road, CNBC reports.
According to reports, a van of the Pakistan Air Force was the intended target of the militants. The PAF vehicle was damaged in the attack.
The nature of the blast was still unclear but according to initial reports a car which was rigged with explosives blasted on the Kohat Raod.
The victims have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. The death toll may rise as up to 12 injured people were in critical condition. Women and children were among the affectees.
Several shops and other passing vehicles were also damaged by the intensity of the blast.
Rescue teams and police have reached the spot and started rescue operation.
The area has been cordoned off by the law enforcement agency. –CNBC
