ISLAMABAD: The government has given approval for reduction of petroleum products’ prices by Rs6.44, CNBC reported Friday.

Petrol prices will be reduced by Rs5 after the implementation of the new prices.

According to details, Light diesel prices will be reduced by Rs2.86 per liter, high octane Rs6.44, high speed diesel Rs2.48, light diesel Rs2.86 and kerosene oil will come down by Rs2.54 per liter after implementation of new prices.

As the government tied the POL prices with that of the CNG, the gas will also be slashed by Rs. 4.59 per kilogram, according to the sources privy to Finance Ministry. CNBC
