PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that Eid ul Fitr will be celebrated across the province on Sunday at the advice of provincial Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committee.
Speaking to media in Peshawar today, senior provincial minister Bashir Bilour said that Eid would be celebrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tomorrow.
He regretted that Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee did not listen to Peshawar’s zonal committee.
Earlier, Peshawar Zonal Committee accused the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of ending the meeting without their consent.
The committee claimed that it had received 24 testimonies about the sighting of the crescent.
Another unofficial committee, which met at Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Peshawar, proclaimed that Eid would be celebrated on Sunday, claiming Shawwal moon has been sighted.
ANP Sindh chief Shahi Syed said he would celebrate the Eid festival with Sindh.
